    1. [GAGEN] Guidelines Revision Committee Update

    3. Hello and Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone enjoyed the earthquake. We'll try to let y'all know about the next one in advance. Having lived in sunny Southern California, I had experienced earthquakes before. I was awakened yesterday by the quake and actually yelled "earthquake!" Katie popped me in the head and told me to take my earthquake back to bed. Seriously, I want to announce that Thomas Hammack has volunteered to serve as the Secretary of the Guidelines Revision Committee. He is the CC of Wilkes County and one other county that escapes me at the moment. Please send him your condolences, errrr, congratulations! We are trying to work on two items right now. The first is fairly straightforward, as it is an effort to bring the guidelines into compliance with the National Bylaws. The second item is a CC's Bill of Rights. The Committee Members report that they have sent emails to you guys asking for help and information in the form of suggestions of what you think needs to be included, and the response has been scant. I know we have been through alot in recent months, and I know that there is more going on, and that this is in addition to our genealogical work and our lives, but if you could give an extra few minutes to hit the reply button and send a suggestion or 20 back, it would certainly give us an idea of where you want us to go with this CC's bill of rights. Thanks, Richard

    3. Richard, The "scant response" may be because I received the request for suggestions about 2 minutes before this post came into my mailbox. If that is the case with other CC's, that might be why there has not been much response. 3. I realize that we are all holding our breaths and wanting to see the current situation resolved. However I also realize that we need to do all that we can to see that these situations must not occur again. We are wanting to revamp the guidelines to better protect the cc's in this project and while we are waiting for the outcome of current charges we need to be thinking about the good of this project. I am representing the South Central Region and would love to hear from the cc's in that area on what changes they feel should be made in this project and what rights should we as "cc's" have. Please if you have one of the following counties, let me hear some of your ideas!
