I came in on the tail end of all this controversy. I am assuming that is vote that is coming up is whether or not Tim Stowell is to remain as the GA state coordinator right? So what happens if he is voted out? Who would take over or would there be another vote to put someone else in that position? I am going to abstain because I just do not have enough information to vote intellegently. But, I am interested in the process and what exactly is going to happen. I, too, came in VERY late in this game as a new CC for White Co. I still don't feel I have a handle on exactly what went on and I, like Michele, don't feel I have enough information to vote intelligently either despite my efforts to get it. My vote DOES count and I know it... which is where my concern for my level of information comes from. As for my background/a little about myself: My name is Heather Jones DeGeorge and I live in NJ where I am the state ASC and CC for Somerset Co. which is where I live--have been a CC there for a number of years. I also serve as my Borough's Council Vice President and member of the Planning Board. I'm a management and project management professional by trade with a specialty in process & procedures. Genealogy is not a hobby for me--it's an obsession...! Have even managed to infect my husband with the bug and we can regularly be found taking our two dogs--Kate & Reilly--tramping through old cemeteries here in NJ. And while I take on paying work, I'm more likely to be found volunteering my time to people that are seeking information from afar. They have a soft spot in my heart--thus my desire to CC webpages and ensure they address the needs of locals and non-locals. I CC a number of other counties across 6 states total--always being careful to choose counties that I know I will be able to physically visit at some point (in case it doesn't come with a strong volunteer network). I've also written a few articles for NGS Newsmagazine. Outside of that, I love my garden, cooking and sewing. Where do I find the time? 1) Insomniac, and 2) no children! Best to all for a peaceful and satisfactory end and healing to the obvious hurts and difficulties that have transpired, --Heather ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michele Lewis" <frugalmom@earthlink.net> To: <GAGEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 07, 2003 3:47 PM Subject: [GAGEN] pardon my ignorance but... > I came in on the tail end of all this controversy.
