    3. Hello Folks, I have been reading recent comments about the USGW needing "new blood." Well I'm one of those "newbies" who is definitely interested. I subscribed to the USGW-Discuss forum to learn more about the positions open in the upcoming election. I recently requested a nomination for the NE/NC County Coordinator Representative as I thought it would be a good way to become more involved in USGenWeb. I maintain three New Hampshire township web sites -- two since 2001 (Merrimack NH at http://www.jwbrown-home.com/Merrimack/merrimack.htm), Mont Vernon NH at http://www.jwbrown-home.com/Merrimack/merrimack.htm) and very recently I adopted Peterborough NH at http://www.jwbrown-home.com/Peterborough/peterborough.htm). I perform lookups in the NH town histories (that I host) and sometimes in censuses when visitors request same, usually in the same day. I originally lived in New Hampshire, and moved to New Jersey 2 years ago. In the past few days I contacted the New Jersey State Coordinator to see if I could assist with the NJ USGenWeb project, specifically as a County Coordinator. I have two Associate degrees - one in Marketing and one in Computer Software Applications. I worked for 24 years as a professional fund raiser (in middle management positions), and also worked as a consultant for non-profit board and volunteer development for 4 years. I have served on three non-profit boards of directors -- a Credit Union, an organization serving addicted homeless people, and an organization that served frail and elderly clients. I currently am a part-time web designer working from home, with clients who are non-profit associations and societies. I have all the web site work I want in order to leave me with free time for other interests. I am an amateur genealogist with 25 years experience, and I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the New England Historic Genealogical Society, the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, the Stanstead (Quebec) Historical Society and the Gloucester County (NJ) Historical Society. I am a strong proponent of free access to genealogical information on [and off] the internet. As far as I can tell, National Coordinator Eligibility includes at least one year (the twelve months immediately preceding an election) of continuous service and current activity as a member in good standing, and eligibility to vote within The USGenWeb Project. I certainly meet those qualifications. If I receive positive feedback from this group, I would be willing to change my nomination from NE/NC County Coordinator Representative to National Coordinator, even though I am an "unknown" as far as your current board is concerned, if you feel that I am qualified. I have the time, energy and knowledge of volunteerism, web design and genealogy. I am not afraid to run, nor to lose. I simply would like to become more involved, at whatever level. Janice Brown
