Hi y'all. I'd like to bring up a couple of things to think about. Is the EC unable to assist with SC elections at the time of the national elections in the future as well, or is it because we were late asking for their assistance this time? The current bylaw proposal states that the SC election will be held in conjunction with the national elections. That may need to be reworded if we want to have the EC conduct the election for us in the future. The current wording does not prevent us from holding our own election without the EC's help at the time of the national election. The current proposal (and Vivian's announcement) states that the term will be for 2 years. Is the 2 years acceptable? The bylaws proposals haven't been voted on yet. If we want to change the timing of the SC turnover, we'd need to adjust the length of this upcoming term. (For example, if we wanted to run from September to September, then we'd need to make this term 13 or 25 months.) If we are ok with the timing to be at the time of the national election, then no changes would be needed. I have no strong preferences -- just wanted to bring it up so the Bylaws Committee would know what to do with the proposals. Also to think about -- would you like to have the Bylaws Proposals vote to be held by the EC when they can do it -- end of August, early September? Or handle those internally as well?
