    3. OK, folks, this discussion has gone on long enough. I sincerely apologize for not addressing this issue earlier. Had I known that the EC would not be able to accommodate our election, I certainly would have gotten started sooner. Let me say first that it has been my experience that the good folks of the national Elections Committee are dedicated, hard-working volunteers who conduct clean, unbiased, efficient elections. The integrity with which they do their jobs would be a plus for us. I am told the earliest the EC can conduct our election would be the week of August 22. My term is scheduled to expire on August 1. Because the EC no longer conducts state elections in conjunction with nationals, in the future, we will either have to devise our own election procedure or adjust our SC's term of office. I sincerely appreciate all the support and compliments I have received from so many of you concerning my term of office. I am very flattered by your trust and your willingness to have me stay for a bit longer. However, I believe it would be harmful to the project to go against the structure we established. This is not about me personally. Extending my term without a formal vote of the membership, would, I believe, be detrimental to the project. Conducting such a vote would be as time-consuming as holding an SC election. North Carolina is in the same predicament we are. A disinterested third party from another state is conducting NC's election. I have written this person to see if he can help with ours. Let's proceed diligently with the goal of holding our election as soon as possible. Having the EC conduct the election can be our Plan B. As for RA elections, they must be conducted "in house." The EC does not conduct elections lower than the state coordinator level. The RA term begins on 20 September. One of the first jobs of the new SC will be to conduct RA elections. Last year we used Sylvia's server to present nominees and had two volunteers from outside the Georgia project to count votes. Vivian

    3. Vivian, Once again, your leadership in the event of a troubling matter has proven to be outstanding and highly commendable. I wish to express my sincerest appreciation for keeping GAGenWeb's troubled past and future integrity in mind. --Keith Michael and Vivian Saffold wrote: > OK, folks, this discussion has gone on long enough. > > I sincerely apologize for not addressing this issue earlier.
