I would like to address Deborah's last sentence of her recent mail to the list regarding the removal of information from a county site. "When I give up my counties I fully intend that all of their content goes with the counties. Deborah Byrd" I have received both a county complete with all information (Monroe) and one where the information had been moved to another project by the former coordinator (Carroll). I have never felt that I 'owned' the information left in my care on the Monroe pages and that when the pages are passed on to another coordinator, all files will be included. Even should I become dissatisfied with the GAGenWeb Project and decided to resign, those files contributed by others would remain intact. I do not think a coordinator should have the ability to rob a site of all content, especially that contributed by others. In one of my cases, the former coordinator had transcribed no records and had no records of her own on the county page yet all information was removed. When and if I leave the GAGenWeb Project, I too would want the content to go with the county page. Now so much for that; the new coordinator takes over and decides to move the information to another web site and we have no control over it being moved. Is there any way we can control what happens to the pages? Is this covered in the guidelines? Liz Robertson Haralson County Carroll County Monroe County
