yeah it helps, and that should have been remagnetize. As with any media that stores data through magnetic media it needs to be regularly refreshed, to keep it from degrading, and of course since I have joined the ranks of those with middle age syndrome, that my story at least, I don't remember to do so as often as I should. The little harddrive is constantly being gaused so to speak, so I don't have to drag out the media to it.
