It has been brought to my attention that RAs and others may want posting ability in the blog. Certainly anyone that Ed or Vivian would like to have use it may do so. It's up to them! Different groups within the GAGenWeb project may want a posting category -- like the Archives folks perhaps? You need a logon and password to author and/or edit information -- and those can be done by anyone with blog administrative rights -- so, Ed, Vivian, Linda Geiger, Sylvia Rankin or Roger Nalls can set those up. Once it has been ascertained who can author posts/pages, those folks can contact one of us off the list for logons. Anyone can comment to a post. Comments can be moderated by administrators -- but only to the extent that inappropriate material may be posted by the general public. This is really for the use of the GAGenWeb project team. Blogs are highly searchable and have an RSS feed, so they are a powerful addition to a website. If you have a feed reader, you can subscribe to the blog's feed -- and you will receive notification in the reader whenever someone posts new information to the blog. Wikipedia defines feed readers: A news aggregator is a software application or remotely hosted service that collects syndicated content from disparate sources and provides a single consolidated view. These applications can also be commonly referred to as a feed reader, feed aggregator or simply just an aggregator. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_Feed_Reader To get a free reader, search Google for "free rss feed readers".
