Ed, I currently have the following on the bottom of most of my pages. Would you replace it with the Vivian's? Or could the two be blended? I'm sure others have similar messages on their sites. All materials contained on these pages are furnished for the free use of those engaged researching their family origins. Any commercial use, or, other electronic posting of any files/pages without the consent of the host/author of these pages is prohibited. All images used on these pages were obtained from sources permitting free distribution, or generated by the author, and are subject to the same restrictions/permissions. All persons contributing material for posting on these pages does so in recognition of their free, non-commercial distribution, and further, is responsible to assure that no copyright is violated by their submission Whatever we do, IMHO we should be consistent - at least through GAGen. We can't speak for the rest of the project. If we start, others would see and do something similar. kemis mailto:gagen-bounces@rootsweb.com]OnBehalf Of MThompson Thanks Ed -Marc -- "Ed Gordon" <edeye1@hotmail.com> wrote: Hey Yall, You may want to read the email below that came across the State Coord list. This material and much more is available free of charge through the USGenWeb Project and its state and county Web sites." Thanks Vivian!! She and I have been discussing this problem and we are not sure that the above disclaimer would show up on any pages they already have?? There is no need to panic. The NC is working on resolving this matter asap. So we need to think carefully about our options. I think it could be added at the end of what you have. As far as I know at this moment Ancestry.com has take all the pages down or they said they have. They may put them back up in the future I don't know. But as long as folks can see that we provide free records is the main thing. I wonder if it wouldn't be better at the top of each page. If someone is looking for particular information on a site they might not get to the bottom of the page but they would see it at the top. Just create an incHeader.htm like the incFooter.htm and include it right after <BODY>. The page will load at the top and they can't miss it.
