    3. Ed, I thought there was a time period of service before you could register to vote also - was thinking it was at least 30 days - but when I looked at the information last night, I realized there isn't a length of membership listed as a requirement for voting. There is one for eligibility for running for an office and maybe that's what we were both remembering! 3. Joe, No, you are not automatically registered to vote when you become a CC so unless you went to the EC website before May 31 and registered with them, you are not registered to vote. This applies to the national elections which occur in July every year. The registration form is closed until after this year's election but once it's open again, I would suggest registering then so you don't forget it until next year. 3. Yes and no, Joe. County coordinators are not automatically registered for the USGenWeb elections. Every CC must register via the form on the USGW site (url given in Linda's response). Registration for the state elections is automatic. The national and state elections are entirely separate. Ed will be making an announcement about the state coordinator election soon. 3. Kemis, I'll try to explain it all - if I miss something, let me know. You have to be registered with The USGenWeb Project Election Committee before May 31 in order to be eligible to vote in any given years elections. This page should help the new members understand their eligibility and the process: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgwelections/voters.htm Members of the GAGenWeb project are eligible to vote for National Coordinator, Representative at Large and SEMA County Coordinator Representative. Only the State Coordinators and Assistant State Coordinators in the SEMA Region vote for the SEMA State Coordinator representative. Only members of the Special Projects (Archives, Tombstone, Family Group Sheet, Griots) vote for the Special Projects Representative. In addition, this year, there are several amendments to the Bylaws of The USGenWeb Project that have been proposed, sponsored by the required number of states and placed on the ballot for the election. Those are posted here as required by our Bylaws: http://www.usgenweb.net/volunteers/notice.shtml If anyone has any questions about any of the above, just ask and if I don't have the answer I'll try to run it down for you.
