    3. Hi Christina, You might try converting it to a searchable pdf file. There are free converter programs. Here is one. http://www.pdfdesk.com/winpdf.html I use these all the time, they are nice because the file they create is small in size and fully searchable. Martha

    2. Nola Duffy
    3. Greetings to all the members of the GAGenWeb, I am Nola Duffy and together with Everette Carr and Martha Graham, we have the honor to serve as the vote counters for your GAGenWeb election this year. If anyone might be curious how we were selected, there is a simple answer. We are each presently serving on the USGenWeb Elections Committee and when the Election Committee Chair was asked to help facilitate the GAGenWeb State Coordinator election this year, she designated us as volunteers. At this time, the schedule is as follows: The period for nominations for the next State Coordinator for the GAGenWeb will open on Saturday June 16, 12:01 a.m. EST and continue until Friday June 29, midnight EST. Your nominations can be made to me personally but to make certain there are no problems due to e-mail or computer problems, it is suggested that you CC your nominations to Everette and Martha as well. I will notify the list of any nominations as soon as they are received but the nominator's name will not be disclosed. If multiple candidates are nominated, the nomination period will be followed by a two week period for campaigning. Voting will begin on Saturday, July 14, at 12:01 a.m. EST and end on Friday, July 27, at 12:00 midnight EST. Your votes must be sent to each of the three vote counters but can be sent in the same e-mail message addressed to all three. Once the election is complete, each vote counter will individually tabulate the votes received and then compare to make certain that all three totals are the same. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have, either on the list or to either of us individually. We do appreciate the opportunity to serve the volunteers of the GA-GenWeb. 3. I was also nominated (by whom?) and have declined. I'd like to make the GAGenWeb Project more the focus of my time. There's lots we can do, in terms of new technology, to enhance the state site for Ed and Vivian (and cyberspace) -- and I want to aim in that direction. In that light, I hope everyone will visit the new blog and the bulletin board that will go live this week. We hope these new features added to the state site will give us more opportunity for interaction. If anyone has ideas for topics to be added to the blog, let Ed or Vivian know. And watch for the bulletin board's 'grand opening' later this week. Sylvia Rankin

    1. [GAGEN] SEMA CC Rep Nomination
    2. Doris Robbins
    3. Don't know who nominated me for SEMA CC Rep, but Thanks. I feel that it is a great honor, just to be nominated. BUT due to health problems I had to decline. I may have to have surgery later this year and knew that I would not be able to represent my fellow CCs during my recovery. Anyway, I would like to encourage some of the other GAGenWeb CCs to run for this important position, we need to be "heard" and represented. Thanks for allowing me to be part of such a great team. 3. I've always felt that people should be asked before they are nominated, because it seems like such a waste of time and energy otherwise. And, there's nothing wrong with people speaking up if they want to be nominated (God bless them!) No, I'm not one of them, but I appreciate them. ;-) Pat S Gwinnett Co ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kemis Massey" <sobbygenealogy@knology.net> To: <GAGEN@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 11, 2007 6:13 PM Subject: [GAGEN] Elections & Devil's Helper > > I know that I've been through the elections before, but it's my nature to > ask questions - think that's how I became a CC (Virginia figured if she > didn't give me something to do I was going to ??? her to death.) 1. [GAGEN] Biz in the Subject Line
    2. Ed Gordon
    3. O 1 more thing I neglected to tell our New CC's anytime you see "Biz" in the subject line this is a required email to read as it pertains to State Business any messages that do not have this in the subject line you can delete...It seems though that I have forgotten this little item in some of my recent post like the roll call post...We seemed to have gotten away from that for some reason...but there was some CC's that didn't like getting all the chatty post so Vivian came up with this Idea and it seemed to work really good when I used it. Sorry Yall Ed
