Hi Michele: The polls close April 21, 8:00 AM Bloomington (Indiana) time. Give Larry some time to get to work, fill his coffee cup, and turn his computer on. He adds up the totals and sends them to the EC. (Remember, I am 2 hours earlier than Indiana, but I will try to get on-line early and fforward the results to y'all!! (I've only been on your list for a couple of hours and I've already picked up a southern accent!!) --- Michele Lewis <frugalmom@earthlink.net> wrote: > When will the results of the vote be announced? > > Michele > McDuffie Co > > *** All outgoing mail checked by Norton AntiVirus > *** > > > ==== GAGEN Mailing List ==== > For researching SURNAMES, check out GAGenWeb's new > help page with links > to the most popular Surname sites: > http://www.rootsweb.com/~gagenweb/cchelp/surname/ > __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? What Carol is saying is absolutely correct. Richard Pettys, Bettie Wood and myself were removed from the EC list back in early February because we are all three GA. CC's. Also our Elections-L list is absolutely private and we cannot communicate what goes on there with anyone other than ourselves. In this case, those still actively working on the EC list are not communicating with Richard, Bettie and myself regarding the GAGenWeb project. The individual votes go thru Larry's server and he is the only one who will know and I also have faith and trust in him. I have worked as an elected township clerk and election administrator for 17 years now and MI has *very* strict election laws and believes fully in the privacy of the ballot. Many of the national voting laws have been patterned after MI, so if I feel safe with Larry, you should too. So, please feel feel to vote your conscience. No, one, not even when we go back on the EC list will know how you voted. ----- Original Message ----- From: Morgan, Kimberly To: poohbos@poohbos.com Sent: Thursday, April 10, 2003 5:22 PM Subject: Bettie Update Hello everyone, I just got off the phone with Bettie, she is doing OK but very emotional. Not sure when she will be back online. Her daughter was caught in the tornado <in the center> and it picked her up and threw her about 12 feet, but by the grace of god she only suffered bruising and is black & blue. What Bettie thought was a broken nose was only <bent out of shape - chuckle from Bettie>. Her daughter Vona is doing OK and is able to go back to school. Vona was on her way to see her boyfriend when the tornado hit and the house was beaten up pretty bad but the boyfriend is OK as well. The death in the family was someone close to Vona & her boyfriend Andy and is a family friend. Bettie said she would share more later. Now Bettie has just learned that her mother-in-law is in the hospital and not doing well (her mother-in-law is in Dallas). She said to please share this news with you and to let you all know that she misses everyone. If you would like to call her, please let me know. I have her number and she was very happy to hear from me. Kimberly

Hello Everyone: My name is Joy Fisher. I have been subbed to your mailing list for the duration of the recall election. By now almost everyone has received his/her pw and ballot location. We are working through the bounces now and I will send the corrected e-mails to Larry so he can get those pw's out. If you have any questions about the voting process you may ask here on the list (or personally - if you prefer). If you did not yet receive a pw, please reply to me personally. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Just vote - if you want to click present then do that. I find it utterly amazing and insulting that there are those who are telling us what to do on our ballots. The only reason to abstain from voting or to NOT choose present as an alternative (to not voting) is so there is not a quorum. Then whatever we vote on will not pass as a majority would not have participated. The choice is yours - and yours alone. Wyndell, Thanks for that offer of a ride!! I may need it.....snow has been falling here (Boone, NC) since early AM and is to continue through the night! I had enough snow in Denver Colorado three weeks ago to last a lifetime. I survived the second worst storm in Denver's recorded history, and I survived 36 inches of snow. Carol, That is absolutely correct. However, what I was referring to was the emails to ensure that everyone got their ballot. We do not want to know *how* people voted. We only want to be sure that EVERYONE got the chance to vote. That is what the amil addresses are for - to ensure that everyone got a ballot. And yes, I agree that Larry and Ellen are trustworthy. I think I can speak for the others on the EC in that we will be glad when this controversy is over so we can get back to work.
