    1. BIZ Proposed national bylaws change
    2. Michael and Vivian Saffold
    3. Hello, everyone, Some of you are aware that there is a debate currently being conducted on the Board-L mailing list and other places concerning a proposed change in the USGenWeb bylaws. This debate has spilled over into private emails some of you have received. Some of you already have expressed concerns about these emails. The change concerns the method by which a state coordinator may be removed. You may see the actual proposed language at: http://home.mchsi.com/~sagitta56/ Click on Comparison Table. Then search for Article XII Section 7 (the proposed new language) and Section 9 (the current bylaw). This Web site contains the entirety of the national Bylaws Revision Committee proposals. What you find on the Web site is probably not the final version of this section of the BRC recommendations. In addition, all of the recommendations will voted on by the entire USGenWeb membership before they become "law." This site also gives the names and email addresses of the committee members. I encourage you to participate in this process and make your opinions known to the committee. Our own Bettie Wood and Vicki Shaffer are members of this committee. If you have questions or concerns, please let me know. Vivian

    3. I have finally finished transcribing and uploading the remainder of the early wills and deeds abstracts to the Columbia County page at this address: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gacolumb2/ Also a "History of Wrighsboro, Georgia" is new. There are 154 pages in the wills and abstracts books . The wills also contain marriage names and dates within them. Richmond and Warren counties are mentioned frequently. So, if those county coordinators, haven't done so, they may feel free to link to these pages. Suzanne Forte Columbia County Coordinator

    3. my grandparents marriage was performed by Dr. David WILLS, president of Oglethorpe University and that is exactly what it says on the returned marriage license, which is in the Morgan County Archives in Madison. .
