Hi Gail, If you are getting the list twice, it is because you are subscribed to more than one mailing list that the reports are sent to. As for the GAGEN mailing list, as a courtesy to the others, only Georgia counties are included. Thanks, Ron ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, March 24, 2005 6:03 AM Subject: Re: [GAGEN] Census Upload Report > I am getting this list twice. > Gail Lacy > > > ==== GAGEN Mailing List ==== > USGenWeb's motto is - Volunteers dedicated to free, on-line information. > >

I am getting this list twice. Gail Lacy
> That's the way I interpret it also. Yes, that's the way it was meant. All coordinators would have a vote... and there would be a limit of two coordinators per county or special project. My reading of the section concerning CC voting is that each CC would have a vote, but no more than one vote per person. If a county had two CCs, Jane and Jon Doe, then both would vote. I don't see the proposal saying only one vote per county. Jacki

Please, folks, let's keep this debate civil. Please direct comments only at issues, not individuals. Unless you have something constructive to say, I would suggest not saying anything at all. Thanks. Vivian
John, What caused the problem last time was NOT knowingly allowing members to vote more than once. It was violating the rules in place and abuse of power. We could probably just pull out the old by-laws and make a few changes where we later learned they could be abused. Why stop there. I agree with David. Each CC should have one vote. Since we are limiting the numer of CCs per county, we should not have the problem of names being listed as assistants just for the extra votes. The Census Bureau has released the 1790 census in pdf format at no charge. The files are scans of a book, not the actual images. The states they offer are: CT, ME, MD, MA, NH, NY, NC, PA, RI, SC, VT, VA. http://www2.census.gov/prod2/decennial/1790.htm

I know some folks have had trouble with the VG link changing. The following link has remained the same since I first visited the Digital Library of GA site, some of you may wish to use this on your pages: http://www.galileo.usg.edu/express?link=vang&hp=1 Michael and Vivian Saffold wrote: > A while back, we discussed the Vanishing Georgia Collection of > photographs that is available online at the University of Georgia Web > site.
