http://www.thegaproject.org/discuss.htm I forgot to give the url for the "discussion" for the By-Laws. As I said before, Jacki Jonas posted this in March.... so we CCs need to become involved and do some reading and thinking on this subject. We can't just sit back and expect it to be done for us. Keith has been very helpful in making comments.... be sure to read the entire page....but I know the committee would appreciate some more comments. The committee needs to hear some other viewpoints. Click on "Help" if you need a refresher in how to make your comments. Read especially the "removal of a coordinator".... the committee needs to hear from you. Is a 4 month probation period needed or just 30 days... you'll see both views expressed... but we need to hear from more CCs on this very important issue. Virginia
Please welcome our new Cobb County coordinators, George Thompson and Beckie Watson, along with the Cobb Webmaster Greg Hamlin. Greg is the coordinator of the Moultrie County, Ill. site. Vivian

I feel that we have had a very good year under Vivian as SC, and I'm so grateful for her hard work, and her style of leadership. We've worked together in a congenial manner, and can really be proud of the county pages that have been developed and maintained. So everyone deserves a pat on the back! With the reminder about National Elections which has been coming through, I thought we should be reminded here in GAGenWeb about the need to be thinking about our own election for SC and also the passing of the By-Laws. (Vivian's election was a one year term although I believe the By-Laws state a two year term for future elections.) Jacki Jonas reminded us back in March to review the By-Laws Committee work: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gacolqu2/bylaws/proposals.html Maybe we can move along on this. If anyone has questions, I'm sure the Committee would be happy to address them. Virginia Crilley

I have updated my getting started section, http://www.rootsweb.com/~gascreve/toc.htm#Where%20to%20Start%20Research%20in%20Georgia The archives have completely redone their page, which dropped many links, I thought were helpful, so here is what I was able to salvage and recreate. Deborah Byrd

Thank you all for the welcome. I hope that I can do McIntosh Co. justice. You can bet if I have any questions, I'll hollar. :-) Donna Allen
I sent this before with 'porn links' in the subject line and it never went through - so I'm wondering if it was filtered out?? Anyway - I'm resending with a more acceptable subject line. I appologize if you get it twice... BTW, I had someone point out to me the other day that a few of the links on my pages lead to porn sites!!! Needless to say, they didn't when I originally put them on the pages. I went through all the links on my pages (took FOREVER) - and sure enough - several lead to porn sites The ones that did were all to the same basic site - so the only thing I can figure is whoever had that site decided to do porn instead of Civil War history - OR - let go of the domain and it was bought by someone else. Either way - I was glad the researcher pointed it out to me and hopefully I found them all and took them off. I found a bunch of broken links too and got them cleaned up while I was at it. Just thought I'd pass that on to y'all in case any of you might have the same problem. Beth Gordon County GAGenWeb Project Coordinator Spalding County GAGenWeb Project Coordinator
I've put lists of Georgia's Korean War Casualties on the Gordon and Spalding County websites. Transcribed from the Korean War Casualty File, Office of the Secretary of Defense. If you are interested the lists are at: Gordon County: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gagordo3/korean_war_ga_casualties.htm Spalding County: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaspald3/korean_war_casualties_ga.htm I'm working on getting the Georgia Vietnam War Casualties online - but haven't finished with them yet. Hope everyone is having a good weekend! Beth
