Ann, I don't believe it could have been called Five Points until after they built the streets up over the railroads creating the point. It doesn't appear to be there on the 1886 map. I believe they did that about the late 1890's. However, I can't find an appropriate reference. Five Points was very clearly defined in 1957 when I worked at Fulton Bag and Cotton Mill and ran up there on my lunch hour to shop. Franklin Garrett and I never discussed that. Because of my cemetery book we spent our conversation time discussing cemeteries. Although we did have a lively discussion over when they tore down the arches at the entrance to what is now Peachtree DeKalb Airport. If I find an appropriate map or reference, I will post it. Donna
