Clark Howell raised his family there except for 2 years about 1848 that he moved to Marthasville (Atlanta). He wanted to go back to the country (Warsaw) and sold his Atlanta lot (next to the Piedmont Hotel) to Dr. Crawford Long who was moving over from Athens. This Clark Howell's son, Evan P. Howell moved back to Atlanta about 1867 and retired as the President and Editor-in-chief of The Atlanta Constitution in 1897. Evan P. Howell was succeeded by his son, Clark Howell. You might want to look for your family as I recognized many Forsyth names that appeared on the 1850 Forsyth County Census. Hanceford (This is a variant spelling of Hansard) Sydney Rainwater Also on the list is Hugh Montgomery who was Indian Agent to the Cherokees. The James Montgomery on the list is probably James M. C.
