Is there a site to request death certificates from GA or can someone give me the address to write to. Do I need a form if so maybe a phone number so I can call if they do not have a web site. Thank you Jo-Ann Vickers Las Vegas,NV
Try this: Fulton Co. Health Dept.,Vital Records Service,99 Butler St, SE, Atlanta, GA, 30303. They are pretty prompt; the cost is $10.00, as I recall. I can't remember well enough to tell you what the dates are for birth and death certificates, but they are different. You would probably do well to call them first for accurate info. Mollie, will see what I can find out... Ann in Atlanta
Hi Ann, The Friendship Baptist Church that my aunt Daisy Parker Fowler was deacon at is on Gaskil or Powell street, can't remember which. Near the Oakland cemetery and Fulton Bag cotton mill. Thanks Mollie
Is this an Africian American (AA) Church? If so there is one today by the Georgia Dome. The actress Jasmine Guy's father is the pastor. If this is the church you mean it is the same one that our first AA Mayor Maynard Jackson's father was pastor. Don't know if this is the Friendship that you are talking about. Ann in Atlanta
Does anyone know where death certificates for the City of Atlanta would be for deaths occuring prior to 1919? I have been sent on a few wild goose chases with this. Thanks for your help. Rose
Does anyone remember the Old Friendship Baptist church near Memorial Dr in Atlanta? My Aunt Daisy (Parker) Fowler was Deacon there probably during the 1920's to ?? and also for other churches in the surrounding areas. I attended that church when I was a little girl. It is still there. Does anyone know who I could contact about church rolls, membership for early 1900's + ? Thank you, Mollie Parker Story
Hi, Could anyone tell me what church Jonas Jenkins was pastor in 1906? It would have most likely have been a Presbyterian or a Methodist church. Thanks for any information. Marylee Jones
Hello, I don't know about the Roswell Mill capture but there was a prison camp for Confederates called Camp Morton in Indianapolis, Ind. I had a relative who died and is buried there. Could this have been the place they were sent? Terry BLeeWM@aol.com wrote: > Hi Everyone, > > My ancestor is Jessee Williams. Dear Terry, Thanks for the help! I will follow that up. Bonnie
Read this is Kenneth Thomas' column in the Atlanta Journal this AM. http://www.accessatlanta.com/living/family/genealogy/index.html Records office moved Georgia's Vital Records Office, formerly located on Trinity Avenue just south of the state Capitol and near the Georgia Archives, has moved and is scheduled to reopen Oct. 16 at 2600 Skyland Drive, Atlanta, near the Brookhaven MARTA station. This is the location of all state copies of birth and death certificates since 1919. A microfiche index to death certificates is available for purchase and can be found at many local libraries and archives. To read an actual death certificate you have to purchase a copy of it.
Please go to the Paulding site and contact the people that are listed in the Revival of the Roswell Mill efforts. They are very anxious to contact relatives and are putting together a memorial for them. They would have more information than anyone of those people. I am working on trying to put together a site that will show the names of the ones that are known, and I have contacted alot of people in hopes that such a list will exist oneday. ----- Original Message ----- From: <BLeeWM@aol.com> To: <GAFULTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, October 15, 2000 8:22 AM Subject: [GAFULTON] Re: GAFULTON-D Digest V00 #100 > Hi Everyone, > > My ancestor is Jessee Williams. Hi Everyone, My ancestor is Jessee Williams. During the War, he worked at Roswell Mill and was also part of the militia. When Roswell was captured, he was sent up to Indiana where (and this is a part I cannot confirm) he worked on a farm there. His family joined him and then they settled in TN after the War. My question is: Is there any record of people being sent to Indiana during the Roswell Mill capture? Thank you for any direction. Bonnie
