In my efforts to reconstruct my husband's Nixon tree, I have come across the following person. I am trying to determine the name of the Nixon gentleman she married. This is what I have: Evelyn E. Harris was born 1 Oct 1918 or 1917 to Richard Homer Harris (24 Aug 1888 - 25 Mar 1981) and Mattie Mae (Jailette) Harris (7 Nov 1892/3 - 3 Nov 1983). Evelyn died 24 Mar 1966. Evelyn was born near Ben Hill, Fulton Co., GA All 3 are buried at Welcome All Cemetery on Welcome All Rd in College Park, Fulton Co., GA. There are many Jailette/Juliette/Jailete/Jaillett/Jailetts buried at this cemetery. At the time of her death, Evelyn's last residence, per SSDI, was given as Alpharetta, Fulton Co., GA 30022. Her parent's was Atlanta, Fulton Co., GA 30331. According to her Soc Sec application, which I obtained copy of, she was married to someone with the name of Miller when she applied in March 1937. At that time she was living at 539 Maple St, East Point, GA. She was employed on 5 March 1937 by Cruett, Peabody & Co., Inc of 1822 Murphy Ave S/W, Atlanta, GA. By the time of her death, she is married to a Nixon, as SSDI and her gravestone give her name as Evelyn Nixon. Who is the Nixon she married???? Looking forward to hearing from anyone that might know something of this family. Thanks for the info about the Park. But in all actuality, We are having the family reunion in the summer of 2002, not in the winter...lol. Since I'm out of state it will take a while to plan something this far away. Does anyone know about Creel Park? Would that be good for a large family reunion. It is centraly located to College Park, Riverdale and Fairburn. Thanks All, MArk Dodd
I don't know what area you want to have it in but there's Sweetwater Creek State Park in Lithia Springs, Ga. that has a good place - its the Family Group Shelter and its enclosed.with heat and fans. It has a kitchen and two adjoining bathrooms and a playground for the children. Its away from the other areas and has plenty of parking. I have used this place for the last nine years for our family reunion. The rent is $100.00 for the day plus each car has to pay the usual $2.00 state fee.
