    3. Looking for information on 2 Franklin County families: 1) Duncan Gaines CAMERON (ca. 1795- ca. 1860) married Nancy Winters in Orange County, NC on May 5, 1822. By 1823, they're in Franklin County where they had at least 9 children. Duncan may have remarried to a woman names Sarah, but I suspect that Nancy and Sarah are the same person. Children: William A. (born 1823; married Mary Pair) Unknown Male ( born ca. 1826; possibly the Sloan Cameron that served in Co K of the 52nd GA along with younger brother Alvin D.) Catharine (1828- ca. 1866; married Little Ingram before moving to Union County) Theresa (1829; also called Thursey; listed as an idiot on the 1850 Franklin County census) Wiley (1834- 1911; buried in Walker County) Valentine (1837-1924; married Nancy Walls; buried Walker County) Alvin D. (1838- ca. 1863; married Rebecca) Mary (born 1839) Sarah (1844-1911; married Jesse P. Ayers; buried Banks County) Thomas H. (born ca. 1847; married Elizabeth. Thomas was by "second" wife Sarah) 2) Robert WICKHAM (ca. 1782- after 1860), born in either Maryland or Virginia, married Elizabeth in South Carolina about 1820. Robert was the son of a British soldier during the Revolution also named Robert. He was found in the 1840 and 1850 Franklin County census as well as the 1860 census for Banks County. Children: Mary Elizabeth (1822-abt 1857, also called Mariah; married Thomas Nelson Garrison) George (born 1827; married Sarry Malinda Cape) John (born ca. 1828) I have other lines that have ties to Franklin County including ALLENS, AYERS, BARNES, GARRISON, and SMITH. Take care David Athens, Georgia david168@bellsouth.net
