I am descended from James Minyard, who settled later in MS. His son, James Minyard II, married Sarah Carpenter, the dau. of John Carpenter and Ester Kennedy/Canady. John and Ester were married in the early, early l800's in Franklin Co. James Minyard I was there, too. They were some of the earliest settlers. I would appreciate any information that anyone has on these families. They Carpenters are believed to have moved from Moore Co., NC, and they intermarried with the Minyards many times.
