Rush Burton was editor/owner of the Lavonia Times and my grandfather's brother. I know that he wrote an article about the Poplar Springs campground which appeared in a special edition of the Times about 1934 devoted to the history of Franklin County. I don't recall him writing anything further on the church or campground but I could be wrong. The 1954 date given is probably 1934 since Uncle Rush died about 1946. Douglas R. Davis
