    3. charles, Sounds like a good idea but it is a big job. I have over 8000 names and most connect to Franklin Co. but I don't have a rewriter or large harddrive. You are welcome to use my gedcom. Part of mine is on OPD too. > Date: Tue, 27 Feb 2001 10:08:53 -0500 > From: "Bonedigger" <bonedigr@concentric.net> > To: GAFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [GAFRANKL] Testing the Waters "consolidated GEDCOM" > > Many folks are aware of the Old Pendleton District consolidated > GEDCOM File containing probably 300000 people or more. > I am wondering if there is enough interest out there for a similar > project for the Franklin County area. > What they do is have folks contribute their gedcom files then they > consolifdate them and make them available for download to whomever > wants a copy. then after they got so huge that the d/l process took > a long time they made CDROMs and sold them at about cost for > duplication and mailing, around $10 I think, just enough to make it > come out even.
