Lorene, Thanks for the shout. We're speaking of the same place: The original site of 'Old Liberty Church,' now completely overgrown. You're quite right that Francis' daughter, Jane (Bell) Hudgins, and her husband are buried there -- in fact, their tombstones are among the very few which are both inscribed and still in place. The property -- now sandwiched between two improved lots -- is still owned by the (New) Liberty Methodist Church (so I'm told), which is some distance away. Whether Francis was/is buried there is speculative and presumptive, at best. He's said to have donated the property -- although that cannot be validated in the surviving records of either Jackson or Hall Co. That -- together with the burial of his daughter and the fact that no one has found his burial site anywhere else -- forms the basis for the belief that he's there: Not a particularly stong case, in my view. Personally, I'd like to think so -- and choose to do so -- but I think it's important for descendants to understand that doing so is an 'act of faith' rather than a matter of fact, as implied in the NSDAR data. --- David
