Hi, I am new to this list. Am seeking info on my grandfather JAMES. D. DUNCAN b. April 18, 1861, in Auraria, Lumpkin County Georgia. He was listed on the 1884 Hester Roll as living in Coal Mountain, Forsythe County, Georgia. I know very little about him. Am seeking info on his first wife and children. Only a few years ago I found he was married, prior to being married to my grandmother, when I found his name on the Miller Roll in Oklahoma. All my family have passed away, so I can't get any info there. He listed the following three children from his first marriage on his application. FRANKY M. DUNCAN (male) b. Sept. 14, 1889 (age at this time 18yrs.) LOVEY or LOVELY N. J. DUNCAN (female) b. Sept. 28, 1891(16 yrs.) LUTHER S. DUNCAN (male) b. May 22, 1894 (13 yrs.) I don't have a clue where these children were born. Other relatives that he had listed on his Miller Application are as follows. His Father: JOHN DUNCAN b.? d. Jan. 8, 1867. Born in Cherokee County, Ga. Mother: TABITHA LORTON b.? d.Feb. 14, 1886. Born in South Carolina. Sister: JULIA PERRY nee DUNCAN G-father: CHARLES DUNCAN b.? d.?. Born Cherokee County, Ga. G-mother: JUDITH ROACH b.? d .? Born ? GG-grandfather: EDWARD or EDMOND DUNCAN, born Cherokee County, Ga . His father, grandfather and great-grandfather were on several of the Indian Rolls taken in Georgia. Do hope someone recognizes a name here or can tell me where to go for more info.
