I just think there may be some relationship between those Goodsons in Bibb Co with my 2nd great-grandparents, William Norris Pritchett and Malissa Alice Smith Pritchett [according to death certificate, dau of Foster Clayton Smith and (Cynthia?) McElroy Smith]. Joab Goodson was Capt. of Norris's company in the CSA. He wrote home to one of his nieces about Norris's injury, using only the given name for him while using the full names for the others who were killed or wounded. There is a group of his letters published in a two-part article in THE ALABAMA REVIEW, April, 1957(pgs 126-153) and July 1957(pgs 214-231) at Huntsville (AL) Public Library, Heritage Room. The article is very interesting to read and gives a lot of references to family and friends from Bibb Co., AL. They contain a lot of genealogical clues.
