    3. According to information sent to me by Ben Garrett, Daniel's father is a Thomas Garrett, not Miles. Here is what he sent: Descendants of Thomas L. Garrett Generation No. 1 1. THOMAS L.1 GARRETT1 was born Abt. 1775 in SC2,3,4. He married TABITHA. Notes for THOMAS L. GARRETT: In the information sent by BenGarrett @ emailmsn.com listed the following ancestors, but no information. I am assuming that it is not proven. Robert> John> John I.> John> William Garrett (Sir Knight). Last year I downloaded two Garrett gedcoms that contain a lot of this same information. Will be very useful if I ever connect. Notes for DANIEL A. GARRETT: No Daniel Garrett in SC in 1820. A Daniel Garrett received land in Hancock Co. in the 1827 Land Lottery. Sharon Bennett Williams stated that she thought that one had to be resident for several years to qualify. so Daniel may have removed from SC to Ga into Hancock Co before 1820. Need to check early census of Hancock Co, Ga. According to [email protected], Daniel A. and the following were found on member ship rolls at Salem Baptist Church, Daniel A., Elizabeth, Emilia, J. V., Thomas, Satria and husband Alan Powell. Church was organized in 1843. A few years before Grandpa died he wasn't too sure about who Daniel's father was but he knew there was a Miles in >there close someway. One of my Aunts says Miles was Daniel's father, and so did this gr. dau. of Hendrix. Grandpa said Daniel came to >Georgia from Anderson Courthouse SC when his son John S. was just a tad of a boy and that Daniel was married three times. 1st to a Miss Stewart (or Stuart) and that she was the mother of Hendrix, John S. and maybe some of the others. 2nd wife: Emilee Jones >(called Milly) and 3rd wife: ........Charity Ellison....... - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ---------------------------- Notes for [STUART]: According to [email protected], Daniel A. and the following were found on member ship rolls at Salem Baptist Church: Daniel A., Elizabeth, Emilia, J. V., Thomas, Satria and husband Alan Powell. Church was organized in 1843. Is Elizabeth his wife???? Found the following on downloaded 1860 Forsyth Co Census records from rootsweb.com/~gaforsyt/1860g.htm Garrett, Dan'l A. 68 farmer, born SC. and Milly age 56 f. born SC. (pg 114-482 #806-806) Is Milly first wife? Sharon Bennett Williams states she believes the first wife may have been a Stuart. She then state that Milly is the same as Charity Jones, 3rd wife of Daniel A. Notes for MARY ANN HAWES: Dirty Laundry as per Sharon Bennett Williams - "Daniel's second wife was Mary. I believe that the Nancy and Jeptha living with Mary Stovall in 1850 were her children by Danile A." [This is not proven] THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH DATES I HAVE FOR THE CHILDREN. The Nancy she speaks of married Gabriel Owen and had 2 sons. she is living with her mother in 1850, being a widow. Jeptha living with this family and Mary is a Stover with no husband but other Stovall children listed ages 18-8 yrs. With age of Stovall children, she would have been married to Stovall 1832-1842. Date for her marriage to Daniel Garrett is 1842. so how can this work for her to be Jeptha's Mom??? Notes for MILLY "CHARITY" JONES: From: Dan and Dorothy Jones <[email protected]> September 03, 1999 >Before going on, you may remember my saying that I strongly suspected that Daniel A. Garrett's 3rd wife, Milly "Charity" Jones, was in >fact Emelia Jones, daughter of Solomon Jones. In one of my documents Emelia is said to have md "David Garrett, and settled in GA." I >have been unable to find ANY David Garrett in SC or GA >I have been going over some documents sent me by a recently met Jones descendant and I discover among Solomon's estate papers, >reference to money paid to "legatees of Solomon Jones". Among the legatees is Daniel A. Garrett. I think now that there can be no doubt >that an ancestral aunt of mine married an ancestral grandfather. Notes for [JOHN GARRETT]: A John Garrett can be found in SC 1820 Pendleton District SC census, pg 192 - 210010-10100 Children are young and figure he is closer to age 30 b. 1790. Could be a brother to Daniel and son of Thomas, but have absolutely no proof of this. Endnotes 1. [email protected] 2. Sharon Bennett Williams EMail: [email protected], "Electronic." 3.
