    1. Re: [GAFORSYT-L] Re Disinterment and relocation of graves.... [lengthy]
    2. If the graves were marked, they moved the tombstones. Those moved to Forsyth County appear in my Forsyth cemetery book and those moved to Hall Co are in Sybil McRay's Cemeteries of Hall County. Let me point out that they didn't specify in the graveyard which graves they had moved. For example and I quote from my book p. 8 Bethel Church: "Site C "5 graves moved in 1956 from Nuckolls Cemetery within Buford Dam and Reserve project" Erected by Corps of Engineers - U. S. Army. This stone was close to 5 Bryant graves. However some were just there, not able to tie them to a particular grave. However under the law, to move these graves, they had to make an effort to locate a family member and ask where they wanted them put. There should be some documentation in their files as to how they found a family member. I was told that after a number of years, the reords were moved to Mobile, AL. There is a web page for the Corps of Engineers and they answered my email although it was not about cemeteries. Donna
