I have good news and bad news. Which do you want first? THE GOOD NEWS? I finished Volume One of the Roper Book and it is being printed even as I type. It ended up about 440 single-spaced 8&1/2 inch pages (if you don't have your calculator handy, that's roughly equivalent to a 880-pages regular-sized book). I will try to paste in the table of contents at the end of this message so you can see what Volume One covers. The book has a soft-cover and is spiral bound. The sub-title is "THE 'LOST' ROPERS OF FORSYTH COUNTY, GEORGIA." THE BAD NEWS? The book is going to cost more than I thought - more than I mentioned in my end-of-the-year newsletter. Two reasons for this: (1) It is much, much, MUCH bigger than I thought it would be. (2) The last time I did a family-history book, the copy center (which had just opened and was looking for business) gave me their commercial rate. No such luck this time. Anyway, the book is going to cost $26.00 plus $3.50 p&h. If you want a copy or copies, send me a check for $29.50 for each one ordered. I assure you that I am making no money on this deal. Why then am I going through this hassle? Because I thought someone ought to do this - and it finally looked like if it was going to be done, I was going to have to do it. A REQUEST: I HAVE NO WAY TO CONTACT THE THOUSANDS OF JOHN ROPER'S DESCENDANTS (LISTED IN THE BOOK) TO SEE IF THEY WANT A COPY. A FEW I CAN CONTACT BY EMAIL OR SNAIL MAIL. IF YOU RECEIVE THIS MESSAGE, I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR SPREADING THE WORD ABOUT THIS VOLUME. Thanks for taking the time to read this. If you don't want a copy, that's fine. But if you do, I need to get your check in the mail ASAP. David Roper * * * * * THE ROPER BOOK: VOLUME ONE TABLE OF CONTENTS SECTION ONE: FROM ENGLAND TO FORSYTH COUNTY, GEORGIA 1. This is the first I have heard about the book. What are the surnames in this book. Thanks, Hazel "Land Of The Free, BECAUSE Of The Brave!" -----Original Message----- From: David L.
