Annette Bramblett has been busy typing and has sent me the disks with all of my "Heritage Sharing" newspaper columns from the 70s typed. (That's 1970 - I'm not thattt.. old.) Also she has sent several chapters of Hiram Parks Bell's Book "Men and Things". There is also an article about the gazebo on the Courthouse lawn with a picture. I will try to get them online by the weekend. Donna
Donna, I'm looking forward to reading your columns and since it appears you are the author there should be no copyright issues involved. There may be a copyright problem with posting the chapters from a book. Depending upon the publication date, you may need written consent of the publisher and author. "Unattributed use of another's intellectual work is plagiarism." I have talked with individuals and organizations who are very concerned and some very upset that their work has been copied and posted on the net. I recommend we all visti <http://www.ngsgenealogy.org/> from time to time and read through "Genealogical Standards" and when posting information on the internet carefully adhere to the "Standards for Sharing Information with Others." The NGS standards were written to promote accurate and high quality genealogical information for future generations. Also, I caution all of us that unauthorized posting material published by other could lead to legal problems. . Alway presume information posted on a website has copyright protection, Unless we have permission from the originator of print or electronic information, it is best not to reprint. We should remember to ALWAYS credit our source.
