My great-grandfather was Jesse NICHOLSON Powell, son of Allen Powell and Esther Bennett. Allen went somewhere in Alabama about 1845 and returned to Georgia after his first wife, Satirah Garrett, died in 1846. Does anyone have any ideas on a possible connection between the Nicholson and Powell families?
