Emily Monroe has joined our mail list. She is the lady who alerted us to the problem there. Here are excerpts from her Email: ----------------------------------- Friday I met with one of the people in charge of the development and the archeologist. We walked the cemetery and they are going to start Wednesday on a well laid approach to survey for the graves and graveyard boundaries. I was welcomed to be there to watch and so I shall. The developer also found a pile of old bricks next to the graveyard under 2 large trees. He and the archeologist were wondering if in fact the church was there and someone had just dozed the foundation in a pile. They are under a layer of grass. So, everything is seems to be going well now and I will keep you informed on any big developments. --------------------------------- We want Emily to know that we appreciate her efforts. I also want to thank Bill Johnson, PR officer of Forsyth County for his major assistance. I put Mr. Johnson on the accept list so that he can post to this list if there is any History information he wants to share with us. AND A big thank you to all those on the list who responded to the appeal and sent help and emails to the appropriate people. Donna Parrish
Now this is a great work.....don't guess this is located anywhere around Lake Lanier is it? Wishful thinking? Looking for Overby's buried in Forsyth County GA. Whose land, best I understand it is now "under" Lake Lanier..... Also, would like to know if anyone knows anything about Franklin County GA? I need copies of deeds from there.....is there any place online that I might get these? Desperate.......
