Thank you Marvin & Donna for the info on the DD 214. I knew the list would come thru. I believe that my Dad was wounded once, probably twice while serving in the 2nd world war. I think he was awarded two purple hearts. He was in the 41st Armored Infantry Regt(Hell on Wheels). . I believe he was in the Sicily Campaign and I believe he was in North Africa. I imagine he had many other decorations but I don't know how to prove it. His military records were burned in a fire at the Military archives in St Louis. It has taken me two years to get even that much from St Louis. I do have his social security number and military service number. He received a disability check from the VA and had insurance which he maintained until his death. He received care numerous times in the Doraville VA hosp. His 2nd wife applied and got a VA marker for his grave. Let's hear from some others about your ancestors in past wars. This is a time to show support for our military men & women. Regardless of what our politics are, they deserve our very best. My father was Robert Anderson, known in Forsyth county as J.W. I am proud to be an american. Sam Anderson
