Hi Donna, How about a roll call? I'm sure there are lots of new list members, as well as our dear friends who started with us on the list years ago. I'd also be interested in hearing where their families migrated from when moving to Forsyth County. While most of us enjoy surfing ancestry and genealogy sites on the web, there are older folks who can't, but do read list messages. I can't begin to tell you how many of my Dad's friends and family I have been in contact with, thanks to this list! My surname list includes; GUNTER, CRUSE, ROGERS, MATHIS, TESSENEER, GRAVITT, VAUGHN, CROW(E), BROWNLOW, HUGGINS, COOK, SAMS, SC(R)OGGIN, and more. Most came from VA>NC>SC>GA. I look forward to hearing from all of the list members! Brenda ambleside@mindspring.com P.S. Donna, how about listing your surnames? Even though they didn't(?) come through Forsyth, you might link up with another researcher! ==== GAFORSYT Mailing List ==== Forsyth County Georgia History and Records http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaforsyt/

    2. Good Morning from Forsyth County It is cloudy and rainy here but we need the rain. I am like you, in that I got so tired of the viruses that I quit posting. I talked with Brenda yesterday and she is "back on board" as my cataracts get worse until they can be operated on. http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaforsyt/ is too good a site to let go. Annette brought me a copy of the new book last week and I will be reviewing it here soon. Please remember that I will mail no attachments to anyone. Also, I have my email blocked for attachments and if you need to send me anything besides an email, you will have to email me first and make arrangements. Have a lovely day!! Donna

    3. Hi: When you go to the library, could you do me a huge favor. Could you look to see if perhaps a man named Isaac Casey left a will there in Forsyth Co. GA sometime after 1850 sorry but I don't have a date or anything for him. I do know that he appeared on the 1850 US Census living next door to my Grandfather Hix Martin. I believe that my Hix Martin married one of Isaac Casey's daughters. I know that he did in fact marry a Margaret Casey but I have to prove that Isaac was her Father and try to learn the maiden name of her Mother. I will be glad to pay all cost of copies, postage and time if you could do this favor for me. I have tired to get into the 1860 Census of that place but so far have had no luck at all. This is why I don't know if Isaac died there or when but I do know I need to find this man's will real bad. He served in Co I of 18th GA Vol. Inf during war. I know he was captured and paroled in 1865. Have no further information on James J. Tatum after war. Does this sound like it could be your James.
