I went searching on listowners help and this is the answer. As you can see Rootsweb doesn't intend to fix the problem, so put in a subject. Donna "There isn't any bug at work here--really. Blank subject lines coupled with short messages in the message body will result in SmartList "tagging" the message as an attempt to subscribe. It doesn't even have to be a full moon. And more often than not SmartList will be correct--so there isn't anything that needs fixing here."
In a message dated 10/23/02 10:35:22 PM Central Daylight Time, MFLP@aol.com writes: > Those emails that are coming without a subject line Thanks, Donna! I was wearing my pore old fingers out, looking for Rolls, and Calls in my database. Was beginning to think everybody in Forsyth County was related to one, or both! <g> Arlene
Those emails that are coming without a subject line are being interpreted by the mail list as trying to subscribe. If they go to the list they will have a number at the bottom if you can see headers. Example <GAFORSYT-L@rootsweb.com> archive/latest/2103 The ones without a subject are bouncing to me and showing Already on the subscriber list This is not something I can fix. I hope I didn't miss any. We have had 2 people unsubsribe which is okay. If you prefer to read the posts online, the link is under maillists on http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaforsyt/ My stand on this is that if you don't want to get email, don't subscribe to an email list. That leaves us with 115 subscribers to GAFORSYT-L and 32 subscribers to GAFORSYT-D Certainly enough to help each other. Donna

Judy, You are right it is Ebenezer ME Church. Cole Mtn is the area of Forsyth Co where the church is located. Mary Elvira Black married Fredrick Adam Moor and they came to Forsyth Co. the rest of the Blacks followed later. Mary Elvira and Fred Moor are buried in Cumming City Cemetery. I have a history of the Black family that was compiled by one of the Moor girls Elizabeth Tomlinson . If you like I can copy it and snail mail it. She did a good job. One thing that interested me was their son Thomas A. Black died in a Yankee prison camp in Lexington KY his father Joseph went to KY and brought his body back and he is buried at Ebenezer along with the rest of the family. Do you know about the family in NC. All I have was that Sarah Miller's Father was James Miller and her mother was Mary ? no last name. I did get a marriage date for Joseph Black & Sarah Miller from Rutherford Co it is Oct 5 1805. They had 8 children I have names and dates for them if you would like. John
John, Yes! But I have them buried at Ebenezer ME Church, or at least there's a marker there for them. Their son, James M. Black, is my 3rd great-grandfather. James married Sarah Elizabeth Daniel, per the information I have, and their daughter, Darlisca, married John M.L. McClure. And so on down to me. :-) I've got pictures somewhere of the tombstones...and I might even be able to lay hands on them if I filed them properly. :-) I'd love to correspond further and share information. I only know of James M. and Mary E. Black as children of Joseph M. and Sarah, so if you've got more siblings, that'd be a real find for me! I am searching surnames of Landsdown/Lansdown and Martin of Forsyth County. David ALLEN Landsdown b ca 1802 in NC married (2)Juliann Martin in 1839. Could William Martin be her father? His first wife died ca 1837; he was a member of the Georgia State Legislature in 1837. Any info would be certainly appreciated. Barbara Doody
Ok and thanks I thought she may be a sister to one of the men you have listed or something.
