The first annual reunion for the descendants and allied families of James and Sarah (Norton) Gunter will be held Sunday, May 18th at 2:00 pm in the fellowship hall of Settendown Baptist Church located in Cumming, Georgia. I haven't had time to proofread them against the originals. I remember that there several typos in the paper. The mail addresses are no good of course - they are too old. My grandfather, Charles Luther Holbrook, was one of his children. They are listed on the Forsyth County 1900 census, but I need to know more information about them. Can anyone help me out? I don't know of any relatives that were members of this family. I know Luther had several brothers--Jess, Claude, Roy--and a sister named Rachel. There were others, but I don't know their names. HELP! I've reached a dead end.

    3. Mary Ovalene Stevens(Staton), 70 of Lilburn died Saturday. The funeral will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday at the chapel of Tapp Funeral Home in Buford. Burial will be in White Chapel memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 9 P.M. today at the Tapp Funeral Home in Buford. Mr Stevens(Staton) was a native of Cumming. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Reba and Tony Bowman Sr. of lilburn; Olinda and Tony Rominger of Hoschton; sisters, Madge Moon of Lawrenceville and Katy Outzs of Greenwood, S. C., a brother, Sam Staton of Gainesville, four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She lived in and around Cumming and Forsyth Co from 1932 till 1950. She as well as her mother "Nannie" (Kendrick) Staton and other siblings, Frank, Bill, Bessie & Jessie were well known there. She had many other kin, to numerous to mention. She was also my Aunt.
