    2. I probably was just reading the page number, Marsha. It has been a long day. Brenda is out of town for a few days. Any complaints should be coming to me and I haven't had any. Thanks for making me see what was right in front of me. I had been using my own transcriptions, but I knew you were doing a great job and I didn't see any sense in retyping. Donna

    3. Dear Donna, Looked over the page, and enjoyed it. May I make a suggestion. If someone later gets on the page and has not been following the recent information on Irene, they would not have any idea who this is. Might be a good idea to explain that information. Also since you evidently have census information to get ages of wives, why not post all to give listing of children at various times. Thanks for the Daniel Newman information. The second number is the household. There are 30 pages in the Chestatee District. Brenda, is anyone else having trouble pulling up the last part of Chestatee District? Right now, I am not even sure of which of Daniel's wifes was his mother. Have been given 4 wives, but most say he only had 3. Am hoping someone has Proof of these wives, and I can get that straightened out. Sorry I was of no help to you. 1. [GAFORSYT-L] Forsyth County Censuses - Daniel Garrett
    2. Sharon posted the 1850 - Daniel is #756 and he is up. I donated the 1860 census to the Forsyth County Genweb page and it is posted in its entirety. Marsha Roach is posting the 1870 Census and it is posted through household 30 of the Chestatee section - Daniel is hsehold 236 in that section, so it shouldn't be much longer until it is up.Daniel Newman is the only child with him. My mother and I also donated the first 100 years of marriages and they are posted on the genweb page. What I am doing now is trying to get all my loose records up and deciding what to do about the cemetery book and the census index book. If you don't have the link for the Forsyth County page - use this one. http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaforsyt/old.htm That will get you to the links to reach the marriages and censuses. Please take the time to look around the genweb site and my site and the historical society site (soon) often. We add material almost daily. We have a great group of volunteers. And people have been most generous. Donna

    2. marsha roach
    3. Actually, all of the Chestatee District from the 1870 census is up and online. When you click on the 1870 census you have to choose which district you want to look at. For Chestatee there are 2 choices: "Chestatee" and "More Chestatee". Daniel is in Household 263 which is listed on "More Chestatee". Soon Coal Mountain District will be online also. When I get the whole census online, I will probably do an alphabetical index for the whole thing. It's only separated into Districts because the page numbers started over at Page 1 on each district and it would have been very confusing to have them all listed together when page numbers were being repeated. >From: [email protected] >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: [GAFORSYT-L] Forsyth County Censuses - Daniel Garrett >Date: Fri, 17 Sep 1999 15:47:03 EDT > >Sharon posted the 1850 - Daniel is #756 and he is up. >I donated the 1860 census to the Forsyth County Genweb page and it is >posted >in its entirety. >Marsha Roach is posting the 1870 Census and it is posted through household >30 >of the Chestatee section - Daniel is hsehold 236 in that section, so it >shouldn't be much longer until it is up.Daniel Newman is the only child >with >him. >My mother and I also donated the first 100 years of marriages and they are >posted on the genweb page. >What I am doing now is trying to get all my loose records up and deciding >what to do about the cemetery book and the census index book. >If you don't have the link for the Forsyth County page - use this one. >http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaforsyt/old.htm >That will get you to the links to reach the marriages and censuses. >Please take the time to look around the genweb site and my site and the >historical society site (soon) often. 3. Dear Donna and others, The time line and marriage dates have me wondering about who the mother of Daniel Newman Garrett was, listed as a minor in will ca 1872 he could have been born as early as 1851 when Daniel was married to Emelia Jones, or after 1865, born to a new and younger wife Charity. Since you listed the 1860 and 1870 census with names and ages of wife, I wonder if you could also check on the children in the household. Need age of Daniel Newman to determine who his mother was.
