Can someone give me any advice on where to look for pre-1900 divorce records in Georgia (Forsyth County, I imagine)? My grandfather's brother, James Berry Roach, Jr. was married Edna McDaniel, my grandmother's sister, in 1886. By 1890, Berry Roach was living in Arizona and he soon remarried. They had to have been divorced sometime between 1886 and 1890, but I have no idea of the date or where to start looking for the divorce record. A little correction on this: Allen Powell died 11/7/1876 after being shot. He is buried in the Henson Cemetery in Crawford Co, AR. Ester Bennett Powell lived until 12/27/1912 and is buried in Crawford Co, AR at the Bolton Cemetery.
