I would like to make a connection with anyone listing a Rachel Miller or James C. Dowdy. They married in Floyd County 6 Aug 1837. According to the 1840 Floyd County census they were living next door to Eli Miller. Could this be Rachel's father. A few houses down there was a John Miller listed as well.
