Wed. Nov. 27th, 1912, page 1 S.B. CRANE PASSES AWAY AFTER LONG ILLNESS TUESDAY S. B. Crane, one of Rome's oldest citizens, died Tuesday night at 9:15 o'clock at home on the South Side after an illness of four months. Though in declining health he was able to be about, up to two weeks ago, and attended to business. He was proprietor of a general store on South Broad Street, which he had conducted for many years. At the time of his death, Mr. Crane was in his 80th year. He leaves a wife and one son, Joseph Crane, of Birmingham, Ala. The deceased was well known in Rome and was highly respected by all who know him. He was a member of Cherokee Lodge of Masons, and the order will have charge of the funeral, which will take place Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. The interment will be at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
