Hi, Doris, Sorry about your data loss; it could have just as easily happened to me since I neglect to back up my own data enough. You mention one (or more) Woods families allied with your Wilkinses and Esteses, families who move back and forth across the state line between Floyd and Polk Counties in GA and Cherokee Co. AL. You also mention Smiths, to whom my WOOD(s)/NIBLET lines may be related. I'm researching Ezra and Butler Wood(s), possible uncles of my ggrandfather William "Willie" Wood, killed in a mining accident in that area between 1895 and 1900. All lived in the Bluffton/Tecumseh AL area, while Willie's father-in-law William Niblet spent much time in Floyd County as a youth, possibly being born there. His father Richard Niblet had land in Floyd County before 1860. Another Wood(s) line in this same area which may be related is that of Levi Wood(s), who with his wife and some children are buried in the Salem Cemetery near Bluffton AL, just across the state line. There seems to have been a good deal of coming and going between AL and GA. A Melton SMITH and wife Elizabeth seem to have been related to the Niblets (William's daughter Rebecca married my ggrandfather Willie Wood). If any of these appear to be allied to your family, please give me a holler. Sorry again for your data loss, and I hope you will be able to recover it. --Mark --- Elantr@aol.com wrote: > Recently my computer crashed and I did not have a > recent back-up disk.
