There is a group of concerned citizens that have started a Cemetery Preservation Project for Polk County. They have a web site at <A HREF="http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/county/polk/CemPres.html"> http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/county/polk/CemPres.html</A> They need help in locating some of the "forgotten" cemeteries. Many of which were either Family Cemeteries or Community Cemeteries. When the love ones were buried, the families never dreamed of a day when the cemeteries would not be maintained. But as the families moved off, died out, the cemeteries became forgotten. Today's younger generation has little, if any information on these cemeteries.
