I am looking for a little help on any of the following on my Gr. Gr. Grandfather (Pleman) P. R. WILLIAMS. 1. Who were his parents and where was he born? 2. When and where did he marry his first wife Amanda WADE? 3. Where was (Pleman) P. R. WILLIAMS and wife Mary Jane in the 1880 census? 1860, 1870, & 1900 in Floyd County, GA. 4. Where was (Pleman) P. R. WILLIAMS buried? He was born Jul 1923 possible in Cass County GA and 1st wife Amanda Wade, born circa 1825 in Greene County, GA. They were married before 1848, when their only child was born, they may have gotten married in Cass or Floyd County. Their only child was Frances Annie Elizabeth WILLIAMS; born October 1848 in Floyd County, Georgia. In the 1860 census, they lived in the Rome District of Floyd County. P.R. was a carpenter. In the 1870 census P. R. was a farmer living with Amanda in subdivision 49 near the Yarborough post office in Floyd County. Their daughter Frances Annie Elizabeth WILIAMS had already left the family, marrying Richard Marion MATHIS. Amanda died 15 Sep 1875 near Running Water, Floyd County, GA. P. R was Methodist and Amanda converted from Baptist to Methodist. During the civil war, P.R. enlisted in the 1st Regiment, Georgia State Line, Co. C, Floyd County, "Fort Infantry". Most of his battle action was in Georgia: Kennesaw Mountain in Cobb County, west of Marietta; at the Chattahoochee Bridge between Cobb & Fulton counties; the Battle of Peachtree Creek in Fulton County NW of Atlanta; the Battle of Atlanta; Utoy Creek in Fulton County east of Atlanta; Jonesboro in Clayton County south of Atlanta; the Battle of Griswoldville in Jones County east of Macon; Grahamville, Jasper County, S.C., north northeast of Savannah; Little Ogeechee Railroad bridge, northwest of Savannah; the Battle of Columbus, Georgia and Girard, Alabama. On 20 Apr 1865 the 1st Regiment surrendered after a short skirmish in Macon Georgia. P.R. WILLIAMS' second wife was Mary Jane BROWEN born Jun 1856 in Georgia. They got married on 22 December 1876 in Floyd County, GA. Their children were: Walter Loveless, born 3 September 1877 in Georgia; Mattie Martha, born October 1879; Jack B., born November 1881; Laura, born August 1884; and Mary Lee, born October 1891. P.R., Mary Jane, and family were living on Spring Street in Rome, Floyd County in the 1900 census. Daughter Mattie was widowed from husband J. L. Collier in the 1900 census. In 1920 Walter was a machinist and a night watchman in 1930. Jack was a laborer. On 25 Aug 1900, Walter WILLIAMS married Georgia Mae UNDERWOOD and on 5 July 1903 Jack WILLIAMS married Lizzie PEARL both brothers married in Floyd County. Laura married John Hendrix about 1909 and Mary Lee married D. B. HENDRICKS. P.R. WILLIAMS applied for civil war veteran's pension. P.R. died 15 May 1908 in Floyd County, GA. Thanks for any help.
