Dear Linda, Thanks for the information to my Lookup query. In regard to your feedback, this David Lawson Dickey, son of George W Dickey was from Dyer Co and then Gibson Co TN. He married Nancy Ann Thomas 1861, a son, John born later that year. He enrolled in the Confederacy's 47th Inf 1862. He was ill during much of the war and served as a nurse to other men as he was unfit for field duty. He applied for Chaplain in Rome GA and was approved. His documents state that he was in a Rome GA hospital 1864 serving as a nurse.....and then there isn't anything about what happened to him. He never returned to his family and he is not listed on the Confederate Memorial in Gibson Co TN. The son did live most of his life in north central Arkansas. Maybe it is a coincidence but I noticed that his mother was from GA per the census and that is why I was interested in the 1870 GA census. His mother was Margaret Fullerton and one source says her parents were in Jackson Co GA. Appreciatively Barb
