Thanks Linda. This does help. They were here in 1880 and not here in 1900 or 1910 so may have moved back to Tennessee or Alabama. I am working on the theory that Lucinda Leming is the missing Haynie sister. A lot of clues point to this particularly that they were from Calhoun County, AL and in 1880 were living in Floyd Co. in the same district as John Haynie and family and his widowed mother. By the way, do you know where the Barkers district is/was. Would it be what is now South Rome, or would it be around Bush Arbor Church area where some of the Lemings are buried? Wherever John Haynie and his mother lived, they had to move their stock to higher ground because of the river overflowing but also heard of the kids playing in Myrtle Hill cemetery so that's why I wondered if it was South Rome.
