Attached is a photo of Richard Marion Mathis taken as a member of the Cherokee Artillery - Corput's Battery - at the State Reunion of Confederate Veterans held in Rome Georgia, September 14-15, 1904. His father-in-law Pleman R. Williams fought in the civil war serving in the 1st Regiment Georgia State Line, Co. C, with recruits from Floyd County. Pleman lived to almost age 85-years old dying on 15 May 1908. Being the State Reunion of Civil War Vets was held in Rome in 1904 and Annie's father Pleman Williams also lived in Rome, there should have been a Photo taken of his company also. Somewhere there may be a cache of photos of other Georgia ancestors that fought in the civil war and lived to 1904. Any idea where they might be found? Lynn Farrer mlFarrer@swbell.net
