Hello, I found in the Battey Book a mention of a George Miller, 1833-1835 as an Old Settler. Also a George H. Miller, age 80 is buried in the Myrtle Hill Cem. Rome, GA. He died 9-11-1916. He was buried on 9-12-1916. In the Aycock BookI found a George Miller. He is mentioned as being an umpire in 1918, Rome,GA. Sorry that is all I found in those two books. I haven't looked in the Heritage book yet. It may take me a while to get to that one. Attn: Carolyn Thanks so much for your offer to do look ups in Floyd Co. This is the area of my reseach and have found very little on my BOLAND and STAFFORD families. The Boland name is hard to trace because it has been seen spelled different ways i.e. Boland, Bolen, Bolin, Bowling, Bulien, Bolene, etc. If you see any resemblence of the name, there is a good chance it is mine. I did find them in the 1880 census, but that is about all I have found on them, but they did live there (mostly Rome) for many years. DANIEL BOLAND mar MARTHA (Mary C.) STAFFORD, and some of their children were: WILLIAM SCOTT (Bill) BOLAND, JAMES T. BOLAND, SAMUEL H. BOLAND, JOHN F. and MARY A. Anything you see, no matter how slight, might be the thing I need to help me. I am happy to pay for costs you may incur. Thanks so very much. Rose Mary

I have a Parthenia Miller with children thats on the 1860 Gordon county census. I don't know who her husband was and I can't find her on the 1850 census in Walker, Murray or Whitfield counties. She was born in 1800, don't know her maiden name. She had 9 children, Pinkney F. born 1844, John A. born 1826, David born 1820, Elizabeth born 1830, Simon (also could be Peter) born 1843, Sarah J born 1849, George born about 1836, Walton O. born 1845, and Johnson (also could be Andrew Johnson) born 1833. Thank you for offering to do look ups. It has an index, if anyone would like for me to do a lookup for you? I would be glad to do it. I also have these books: A History Of Rome And Floyd County, Georgia, by Battey, and The Heritage of Floyd County, Georgia. If you don't get a response right away, please have patience. I go to college during the day, but on my free time I will get back to you as soon as possible. > > Carolyn Sutton > > > ==== GAFLOYD Mailing List ==== > GAFLOYD-L mailing list archives.
