    3. Jackie, Thank you for your response. I would like to receive the info you have. My mailing address is as follows: Clem Johnson 1293 County Road 2201 Goshen, Alabama 36035 I will gladly reimburse you your copying and mailing costs. I don't know of this is my line or not that you have but I would love to have it to review. I'm still interested in any info anyone may have about Mt. Tabor Church and Cemetery and John's Mountain and any additional info about the Johnsons or Millers in that area. Did you ever find your Johnson line? If you want to give me information on your line, I'll see if there is any possibility that I can help. Many migrated on into Alabama. Clem Johnson

    1. [GAFLOYD] Re: GAFLOYD-D Digest V03 #122
    2. Clem, in attempting to find my Johnsons I found a Henry Johnson (my great grandfather's name) just north of Rome in the mountains. Henry's father was Alexander Johnson and in his (Alexander's) will he made provisions for the land an Enon Church was on. Alexander Johnson d: 11/1910 but this Johnson family had been owners of a lot of land in the Mts. just north of Rome GA.; around 126 acres or more! about 8 or 9 years ago I did a lot of research on this family but it turned out they are not my Johnsons after all. I have kept the info on these Johnsons in case I 'ran' across someone who would be interested in the info and would be happy to send copies if you would like. Happy Hunting, Jackie

    3. I am also interested in John's Mountain in North Georgia. My Bagwell's and Isham's lived near Everett Springs (north of Rome, GA in Floyd Co. Is anyone researching these two families? Sharron Bagwell Owens

    1. [GAFLOYD] Mt. Tabor Church & John's Mountain
    2. Kathlyn J Folmar
    3. I recently took a sightseeing trip that included John's Mountain in North Georgia. On the South side of the mountain, near or at Floyd Springs, I noticed a Mt. Tabor Church and Cemetery. Around 1845 my forefather was instrumental in starting four churches in North Coffee County, Alabama. One was named Mt. Tabor. I'm wondering if there is any possibility of a connection here as sometimes when people moved from one location to another, they named a church in their new community the same as the name of one they left where they had lived. So I am wondering if there is any connection to Johnsons or Millers to the Mt. Tabor Church and Cemetery at/near Floyd Springs, Georgia. I also would like to know how this mountain became known as John's Mountain and when. (Floyd Springs is just North of Rome, Ga. alnd in Floyd County.) Clem Johnson Pike County, Alabama

    3. Hi, Lu If the library has the Polk section of the Document Preservation Project I would love to have copies of the "Brewster/Isbell Papers", Microfilm # SHC-156. I'm sure there's likely to be lots more in the project, but this is the only one about which I have specific knowledge, and curiosity about what is in those papers is about to kill me! Thank you again for your offer -- wish I was headed to that part of the country myself!
