I too have a William Bennett b. 1739 (LDS version) or (1744 Moody Miles version) of the Accomack/ Northampton area of Virginia. Moody Miles, a well known genealogist of the Eastern Shore, recently completed a 260 page document using all the books in his library of the Bennetts on the Eastern Shore. There is an earlier Bartholomew Bennett. I've done many searches and that name is truly unusual. I've also located another William Bennett born around that time period in the Elizabeth City Will book born to a John Bennett. Would love to share.
