Gerry, We've talked before - we both worked for the board of education back in the 1970's. I am still trying to connect those Marion and Taylor county Dukes to SC. Bill Duke has been in touch lately. He's exploring the idea that Henry Nathan Duke (I think that is your husband's line?) might be the son of Meredith Duke. He may be right. I think Henry Nathan's mother was a White, of the John Duke and Prudence Bryan line. Which of the Duke's is his father, I can't guess. I hear you work at the genealogy room at the Pine Ave library? email me privately with the days you volunteer, and maybe I can come down and do some research and we can talk about those Dukes.
